We're searching for a passionate Furniture Workshop Assistant to join our team.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly growing furniture design and restoration company. You'll develop your skills within a supportive workshop environment while working on challenging and rewarding projects.

Location:
The role will be located at our workshop in Partridge Green, Horsham, West Sussex, UK.
Contract Terms:
Full-time 6-month contract (40 hours per week), with the possibility of extension and advancement as the company grows.
Salary calculated based on level of proficiency.

About the position:
You will be…
- Helping with the preparation and processing of rough timber for each project.
- Sanding to a very high standard a variety of different pieces in restoration and making.
- Apply a variety of finishes to furniture pieces, to enhance their natural beauty and ensure long-lasting protection.
- Packaging, Crating and Labeling orders for dispatch.
- Assisting in ensuring workshop safety and production standards while supporting the restorers and furniture makers.
- You must have legal authorization to work in the UK (mandatory)
- You are skilled in using a wide range of furniture workshop hand tools and equipment, including chisels, planes, sanders, and power tools.
- You have knowledge of various finishing techniques, including polishing, staining, and painting.
- You have a creative flair and passion for high-quality craftsmanship
- You have a keen eye for detail
- You have basic experience in traditional and modern fine furniture making techniques.
- You are proactive, with a strong focus on time management and efficiency.
- You are organized, self-driven, and thrive both independently and in a team.
- You are enthusiastic about collaborating with and learning from our experienced furniture makers and restorers.
- You are committed to contributing towards a safe, clean, organized, and inspiring workshop environment.
