Distribution & Orders Assistant

Austin Macauley Publishers are looking to recruit a Distribution & Orders Executive to effectively manage metadata and support the orders department as and when required. You will in particular work to innovate and improve procedures and workflow, ensuring that content reaches a high quality, in associated metadata.
Responsibilities
The Distribution & Orders Assistant will be responsible for:
- Categorising and classifying new and existing books in our database with industry-standard codes that would draw potential readers to those books and drive sales.
- Checking past records and ensuring all books have been catalogued properly and correcting errors and inconsistencies in the catalogue.
- Uploading and distributing metadata and files for distributors and retailers.
- Investigating availability discrepancies and resolving in a timely manner.
- Communicating with internal teams on a regular basis with updates as and when required.
- Organising and assisting with monthly royalties.
- Working closely with third party distributors across print, e Book and Audio.
- Oversee, monitor and quality check the accuracy and effectiveness of bibliographic data.
- Recording and updating internal databases.
- Assisting with procedures for out of circulation titles.
- Working with overseas teams.
- Assisting the Orders department with picking, packing and emails as and when required.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Strong general knowledge and expertise.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multi-task.
- A firm grip on IT and various software usage and managing database, excel and outlook.
- A passion and flexibility to work across a variety of genres and provide excellent customer service.
- Keen eye for detail.
- Ability to efficiently problem solve.
- Excellent communication skills via email and telephone.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: £24,500.00 per year
