Job summary
Do you want to work for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO) and play a key role in keeping our country safe through caring for the Defence estate and those that depend on it? DIO manages the Defence estate, one of the UK’s largest and most diverse property portfolios, enabling the armed forces and Defence civilians to live, work, train and deploy. From net carbon-zero accommodation to runways for the F35 fighter jets, our outputs are unique in the UK and across the globe!
This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job description
The role is high profile, exciting, varied and provides an opportunity to improve leadership skills whilst working collaboratively with DIO colleagues, Industry Partners and other internal/ external stakeholders
Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following;
- Support line manager in delivering departmental goals
- Ensure own compliance with mandatory requirements e.g. H&S training
- Promote strong working relationships both within the team and with other teams To manage the daily routine business of the Support Unit Fort Blockhouse (SUFB)
- To staff routine incoming/ outgoing correspondence on matters relating SUFB/ DIO business as appropriate.
- Any other relevant administrative support tasks as directed by the Head of Establishment, such as managing diaries.
- Support and improve FBH coordination and integration into the wider Regional Delivery (RD) Business model, in line with RD Business Plan, Risk Management, and general administration.
- Producing agendas and minutes SUFB instigated meetings.
- Acting as secretary for meetings including booking venues and ensuring sufficient site access.

Experience and Skills
- Strong interpersonal skills; self-confident; ability to work on own initiative within a wide ranging but structured environment and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and tight deadlines is essential. Use of MS Office applications (Outlook, Excel, One note) to support work outputs.

The post does not offer relocation expenses.
External recruits who join the MOD who are new to the Civil Service will be subject to a six-month probation period.

Assessment at sift and interview will be based on meeting any defined skill/qualification requirements along with a Success Profile element assessment, as detailed in the job advert.
