This position steers and drives innovation projects and activities for the Dietary Supplement Segment.

Your key responsibilities:

• Drive the development and execution of DS Innovation projects for the HNC business group; from ideation, over support on concept creation & selling, to market launch:
• • Ideation: based on the consumer and customer needs identified by the Commercial segment lead, the IM is responsible for suggesting formulations that answer these needs. The IM continuously scouts for relevant new science, new applications and new nutritional trends. The IM identifies relevant ingredients from the existing dsm-firmenich portfolio, ingredients from the dsm-firmenich innovation pipeline and from external parties that address the unmet needs.
  • Support on concept creation & selling: The IM helps to create concepts including product messaging and claims, based on the ingredient composition, scientific evidence and regulatory landscape. The IM communicates the science behind our solutions to our customers and helps deliver the story. The IM employs the Health Benefit Solution platform as a way to communicate about our science in an accessible way.
  • Development, execution & launch: The IM is the lead for product development, project execution, and product launch until handover to our customers. The IM drives the cross-functional teams including Regulatory, Operations & Commercial to deliver products ready for launch or handover. The IM supports the regional Innovation leads on launch activities.
• Coordinating Innovation DS activities across the Innovation group:
  • The IM works with the R&D to build compelling science supporting our DS innovations.
  • The IM works with the scientists to translate existing science on our ingredients, products, and solutions into appealing and attractive messaging and claims that can be used towards customers and consumers.
  • The IM works with application experts to develop prototypes of new concepts.
  • The IM engages and interacts with customers as part of innovation workshops.
• Other activities
  • The IM is responsible for obtaining project budget and stage gate approvals & ensure timely execution of the projects and the portfolio.
  • The IM manages internal & external stakeholders, brings new ideas, stays up to date with latest scientific and technological trends, and communicates about projects and science in an accessible way.

You bring:
>10 Years of experience in the Nutrition & Life Sciences industry, of which at least 5 years of experience in Innovation Project Management & R&D.
A team player with the ability to collaborate across business groups, regions and departments and to establish strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. A proven ability to influence without authority.
A Proven capability to work transversally and independently, to deliver product launches and exercise business impact.
A Proven ability to manage cross-functional project teams, and drive projects in both agile and structured ways.
A Proven capability to work on both the details and generalities of complex projects, balancing them appropriately and at the right time.
A Strong network within the Nutrition & Life Sciences industry
