Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Data Engineer with expertise in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and cloud-agnostic technologies. The ideal candidate will have strong technical capabilities, a passion for coding best practices, and excellent problem-solving and communication skills. You will work on building scalable data solutions, designing systems, and collaborating across teams to deliver high-quality outcomes.

Qualifications
GCP Expertise:

Utilize Big Query for data analysis and processing with strong SQL capabilities.
Develop and maintain workflows using Cloud Composer or Apache Airflow.
Manage and configure IAM roles and service accounts to ensure secure and efficient access.
Leverage Data Catalog for metadata management and data discovery.
Implement Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) solutions to streamline deployment processes.
Bonus: Experience with Dataflow, Kubernetes (K8s), Vertex AI Pipelines, or Kubeflow Pipelines.

Cloud-Agnostic Technical Skills:
1. Python Development:

Proficient in Python programming with a deep understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP).
Adhere to coding best practices using tools like flake8, mypy, black, Sonar Qube, and pre-commit hooks.
Expertise in writing robust unit tests and end-to-end tests with frameworks such as Pytest, unittest, and fixtures.

2. Unix Systems:

Proficient in Unix-based systems, including the ability to install software in Docker containers.
Skilled in writing and debugging shell scripts.

3. Version Control (Git):

Experience in creating pull requests (PRs) and resolving merge conflicts.
Build CI/CD pipelines using tools like Git Hub Actions or Azure Dev Ops, adhering to best practices.

4. Docker:

In-depth knowledge of Docker, including image creation, container management, and optimization.

5. DBT (Data Build Tool):

Extensive experience using DBT, ideally in a GCP environment.

6. SQL and Data Modeling:

Strong expertise in SQL for data transformation and analysis.
Solid understanding of data modeling and system design principles.

Soft Skills:

Can-do attitude with the ability to independently solve complex problems.
Effective problem-solving skills, including researching unfamiliar concepts.
Strong communication skills to collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams.
Enthusiasm for code review and constructive feedback to ensure code quality.
