The Mission
ING’s Payment and Settlement Services aims to further mature, develop and expand ING’s state of the art payments platforms and settlements services. The PSS focusses on delivering payments and settlement services, meeting the expectations of ING’s business lines and beyond, whilst ensuring the basics: safe, secure, compliant, and reliable.
The PSS is responsible for providing standardized payments and settlements services to multiple ING business lines (Wholesale Banking, Retail, and others). There is a clear ambition to also look for external commercialization of our payment platforms.
Your day to day
As an Operations Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, evolving, and maintaining production platforms for Direct Debit services. That includes CI/CD pipelines, test and production environments. Candidates will be involved in hands-on activities including POCs, including Public Could migrations, design, documentation, development and test of infrastructure and automation, with a strong emphasis on monitoring and reliability.
What you’ll bring to the team
- Define, design, and automate complex infrastructural tasks;
- Work with developers to continuously improve platform automation, monitoring, alerting and stability to meet market needs with respect to functionality, performance, availability, scalability and reliability;
- Ability to find and help fix infrastructure, performance, scalability, and other live issues in a very time critical environment;
- Help the team recognize potential infrastructure or security issues, and create a plan to solve them;
- Effectively communicate status, issues, and risks in a precise and timely manner.
Mandatory
- Experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing Open Shift/Kubernetes;
- Experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing CI/CD pipeline;
- Experience in managing and supporting production environments;
- Experience in managing the infrastructure of microservice based, highly distributed, scalable, concurrent and low latency systems;
- Linux, Docker, Openshift;
- JRE/JVM monitoring;
- Oracle, Apache Ignite distributed database;
- ELK stack (Elastic Search, Kibana), Grafana.
Nice to have
- Experience in creating, maintaining and optimizing Public Cloud environments.
Foreign languages: English (advanced)
Education: nice to have Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in an IT related field.
