The Role
O&M Track Expert – Qatar CLIENT Linum Consult’s client is a major company operating out of the Middle East. They are currently seeking an Operations and Maintenance Expert with a background in track works on large-scale metro and LRT projects to join their team in Qatar. RESPONSIBILITIES • Supporting the Operations & Maintenance team with the investigation, root cause analysis, and failure attribution of safety and maintenance related defects and subsequent engineering solutions to ensure contractual performance and reliability targets are achieved and maintenance practices implemented • Supporting the maintenance practices assessments, ensuring development of maintenance strategies for planning, execution, and management of maintenance functions and assets’ performance are in line with the company’s strategic asset management plan • Applying engineering principles and providing solutions to engineering problems • Leading brownfield enhancement projects of the current lines, development, integration, and optimisation of complex rail systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and the highest levels of performance and safety • Leading the planning, design reviews, and implementation of track systems for metro and tram projects, ensuring integration with other rail subsystems • Overseeing track construction and installation projects, working closely with contractors and engineering teams to resolve technical challenges and ensure quality benchmarks are set

Requirements

• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or similar, ideally with a masters and a membership to a relevant professional engineering association • Around 10 years’ experience in the rail industry, particularly on metro and tram systems • Demonstrable background in track engineering, project management, and integration within complex transit projects, specifically in track maintenance, construction, and design for metro and tram systems • Extensive knowledge of rail industry standards, codes, and best practices on track design and maintenance • Thorough understanding of rail systems and track interfaces • Excellent communication, decision-making, and analytical skills • Previous experience in the Middle East would be preferred.
