ACS Doha is highly distinctive in the landscape of schools in Qatar: an American International IB Continuum school on an outstanding new campus. The school has recently became part of Artemis Education. ACS Doha is a pre K- 12 school, currently enrolling 980 students, with substantial potential for growth in its new facility.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in the identification of needs of assigned students through formal and informal assessments ·
• Review referral data, history and assessment data to help develop appropriate goals and objectives for each student
• Collect and analyze data, such as WIDA and MAP, to ensure a successful progression of English language acquisition
• Confer with teachers regarding the educational, social, emotional and physical needs and objectives of each student
• Assist in the planning, development and implementation of individualized learning plans
• Prepare instructional materials and lesson plans according to Individual Educational Plans (IEPs)
• Assist in the development and implementation of necessary interventions and strategies to promote student achievement
Prepare EAL students for inclusion and transition to mainstream

Experience and Qualifications:

• Specialisation in Special Education and EAL, or a related field.
• Teaching Qualification- PGCE/BEd or equivalent preferred
• Experience teaching in an international school preferred (IB, AP, PYP and/or MYP)
• Experience in applied behavioral and academic interventions to support high-quality instruction for all students
• Understanding of current evaluation methods and tools for various levels of assessment; including adaptive and curriculum-based measurement
• Fluent in English, both verbal and written, demonstrating excellent levels of communication
