Who Are We Looking For?
We are seeking a highly skilled VMware Engineer to join our IT team. VMware Engineer will be responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting VMware-based solutions. This role will be assigned to enhance our IT infrastructure by leveraging VMware technologies, enabling seamless integration with cloud platforms like Azure, and ensuring that our virtual environments are optimized for performance.
VMware Engineer will work closely with our Engineering team to ensure our virtual environments are optimized for performance, security, and scalability. This role is critical in ensuring the stability, scalability, and security of our virtualized environments.


Key Responsibilities:
Design & Implementation:

• Design and implement VMware infrastructure solutions based on business requirements.
• Deploy and configure VMware v Sphere environments, including ESXi hosts, v Center Server, and related components.
• Plan and execute VMware upgrades, patches, and migrations.

Administration & Support:

• Manage and maintain VMware virtual environments, ensuring optimal performance and availability.
• Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
• Provide Tier 2/3 support for VMware-related incidents and service requests.
• Collaborate with network, storage, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and operation.

Automation & Optimization:

• Automate routine tasks using VMware Power CLI, Ansible, or other scripting tools.
• Optimize VMware environments for performance, resource utilization, and cost efficiency.
• Implement and manage VMware v Realize Automation, v SAN, and NSX environments.

Security & Compliance:

• Ensure VMware environments comply with security policies and industry standards.
• Implement and maintain disaster recovery plans for virtual environments.
• Conduct regular security assessments and vulnerability scans.

Documentation & Reporting:

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation for VMware environments, including architecture diagrams, configuration settings, and procedures.
• Generate reports on VMware environment performance, capacity, and utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
• 3+ years of experience in VMware administration and engineering.
• Experience with VMware v Sphere, v Center, v SAN, NSX, and v Realize Suite.
• Proven experience in designing and implementing VMware infrastructure solutions.
• VMware Certified Professional (VCP) or higher.
• Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, Azure Solutions Architect) are a plus.
• Other relevant certifications (e.g., CCNA, MCSE) are a plus.

Skills:

• Strong understanding of virtualization technologies and concepts.
• Proficient in VMware Power CLI, Ansible, or other automation tools.
• Familiarity with storage, networking, and security as they relate to VMware environments.
• Knowledge of disaster recovery and business continuity practices.
• Experience with Azure VMware Solution (AVS) or similar hybrid cloud solutions.
• Ability to integrate on-premises VMware environments with Azure services.
• Understanding of AVS deployment, management, and optimization.
• Knowledge of Azure networking, security, and storage services in relation to AVS.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
