Job Title: OQ Permit Holder

Key Responsibilities:

• Permit-to-Work Coordination:
• Prepare, issue, and manage all work permits in compliance with OQ’s Permit-to-Work (PTW) system.
• Ensure permits are appropriately signed and authorized before work commences.
• Compliance and Safety Oversight:
• Ensure all work adheres to OQ safety standards, policies, and procedures.
• Perform site inspections to confirm compliance with safety guidelines and PTW requirements.
• Risk Assessment:
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard identification for various tasks.
• Ensure appropriate controls are implemented to mitigate risks.
• Operational Readiness:
• Review and verify work procedures, method statements, and related documentation before issuing permits.
• Ensure all required isolation and de-isolation processes are carried out safely.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Liaise with contractors, supervisors, and engineers to ensure clarity and compliance with permit conditions.
• Act as the focal point for resolving PTW-related issues.
• Training and Competency Development:
• Ensure all workers involved are trained and competent to perform tasks under the issued permit.
• Provide guidance and education on PTW procedures when required.
• Incident Reporting:
• Report any deviations, incidents, or near misses related to work permits.
• Contribute to incident investigations and corrective action implementation.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Education:
• Diploma or bachelor's degree in engineering, safety, or a related field (preferred but not always required).
• Experience:
• Minimum 3–5 years of relevant experience in oil and gas operations.
• Proven expertise in PTW systems and processes.
• Certifications:
• PTW training and certification (mandatory).
• HSE certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent (preferred).
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of safety and risk management in oil and gas environments.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Proficiency in reporting and record-keeping related to permits.

Key Competencies:

• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with Oman-specific regulatory standards and OQ protocols.

Pay: RO400.000 - RO500.000 per month
