Unipol Recreation Services is based at the University Plaza in a state-of-the-art facility offering a wide range of recreational opportunities. The role/Te mahi
The Recreation Equipment and Facility Coordinator is part of the Unipol team and reports to the Assistant Manager (Recreation Development).

The key tasks of this role are:

To carry out scheduled checks on equipment and areas of the facility.
Implementing a preventive maintenance and cleaning schedule on equipment to ensure longevity and safety of an array of exercise, sports, and games equipment.
Ensuring timely reactive maintenance on equipment for repairs.
Recording and documenting maintenance and equipment details.
Maintaining inventory for equipment parts and ordering as required.
Supervision of the facility and identifying risks and improvements to layouts and procedures.
To help implement a Te Tiriti-led facility focusing on appropriate Tikanga Māori.

As the Recreation Equipment and Facility Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that our facility aligns with the principles and values of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. You will work closely with the Unipol team and users to create an inclusive, safe and rewarding recreational facility.

You will be a self-starter with experience in the fitness industry and a passion for delivering exceptional service. Additional skills required for this position are:

Experience servicing/maintaining equipment.
Experience in understanding the fitness industry and its diverse range of equipment.
A passion for and commitment to ensuring students, staff and the public have an outstanding recreational experience.
Dedication to working in a culturally safe and respectful manner and demonstrates an understanding and appreciation of Te Ao Māori, Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles, and Pasifika values.

This is a permanent, part-time (18.75 hours) position, based in Dunedin. The right applicant will be available between 9am-1pm Monday to Friday and occasional weekend/evening work. Some flexibility can occur for the right applicant.
The appointment range for this role at Level 4 is $59,285 to $63,651. Top of Range $68,744 (pro rata).
