About our team/Mō te tīma
The School of Physiotherapy strives to provide excellence in physiotherapy teaching, research, and clinical practice. Our focus is primarily on the assessment, treatment, and prevention of physical dysfunction, and in the promotion of health for people of all ages.
The role/Te mahi
The School of Physiotherapy currently has an opening for a highly motivated Professional Practice Fellow with a passion and enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and skills with students to work as a clinical educator in our Nelson Hub.
In this role, you will support teaching across a range of papers in the clinical setting. This includes:
  • Preparation, assessment, teaching and paper administration duties, under the supervision of the academic colleague who is responsible for course design and delivery.
  • Carrying out administration responsibilities.
  • Contributing to the School’s academic goals by applying and sharing expert knowledge in a professional discipline.
Your skills and experience/Kā pūkeka me kā wheako
  • You must hold registration with the NZ Physiotherapy Board.
  • Have a full New Zealand driver’s license.
  • You must be compliant with the Vulnerable Children’s Act.
  • You must be compliant with current Ministry of Health mandated requirements.
  • A positive attitude.
  • Confidence to liaise effectively with students.
  • Strong communications skills
  • Experience with liaising with clinical partners and supervising students.
  • Strong clinical skills.
  • Proven experience in a broad range of physiotherapy practice.
  • Ability to work autonomously & within a team.

This is a permanent, part-time (0.2 FTE), academic year only (Mid-January to mid-November) position based in Nelson.
The appointment range for this role is $85,523 to $96,058 per annum (pro-rata).
