Mō te tūranga - About the role:
- Support the provision of an outreach service which meets the need of whānau, monitoring whanau needs, clinical outcomes, whanau satisfaction and clinical standards
- Provide excellence in clinical care across the care continuum while being supported by and part of a wider community midwifery hybrid service
- Ensure discharge planning/handover of care to a well child provider processes are robust and timely
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to ensure service is streamlined, comprehensive, safe, efficient and effective
- Engage in quality and risk programmes
- Participate to nurturing education opportunities
- It is essential that you are a NZ Registered Midwife and hold a current APC
- Demonstrate sound professional and clinical judgement
- Have relevant knowledge of patient safety and resource management
- Demonstrate clinical quality, safety and best practice.
- Confidence to build successful working relationships with those around you, the ability to work independently or within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Confidence with te ao Māori, tikanga, and te reo Māori or a commitment to starting your journey

Approximately 1,500 babies/pēpi birth here at Ōtepoti/Dunedin Hospital annually. We offer a comprehensive range of primary, secondary and tertiary maternity services, alongside inpatient and outpatient antenatal, delivery, postnatal and lactation consultancy services. Utu whānui - Salary range
This role falls under the terms and conditions of the MERAS Midwives Collective Agreement (1 February 2024 - 30 April 2025) and falls between the Step 2 ($130,864 p.a pro-rata) and Step 8 ($132,941 p.a pro-rata) of the Community Midwives Salary Scale.
