To expand the current team, we are looking for a full time (Junior) Import & Export Operator. For this role we need a chinese speaking/writting operator.
As (Junior) Import & Export Operator you will be responsible in coordinating and managing shipments by Sea/ Air/ Rail and Road, ensuring timely and cost-efficient transportation of goods as per customer request. You will work closely with all departments, clients, shipping lines and other suppliers to facilitate the entire operations process according clients request.
Your role as import & export operator:
Shipment Coordination: Assist in planning, coordinating, and monitoring import and export shipments from A to Z. day-to-day work.
Communication: Maintain effective communication with suppliers, customers, shipping lines, customs brokers, and internal teams and cross-departmental communication to make sure all shipments arranged smoothly and received payments timely.
Process Improvement: After training and hands-on practice, continuously review and improve import and export processes and Self-motivated to help the operations team organize and summarize the knowledge needed for their daily work to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize errors and to improve yourself operational skill, identify bottlenecks and implement streamlined workflows and automation solutions where applicable.
Reporting: Generate reports and maintain accurate records of import and export activities, costs, and other relevant data, also submit monthly work reports to the superiors.
Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by promptly addressing client inquiries, concerns, and requests related to import and export shipments. Able to take the right steps and decisions in order to avoid issues or mis performances and solve this in a professional way.
Performance: performance is periodically evaluated and compared with the internal average of all companies within the DCG Logistics group with similar functions. Performance can be expressed in numbers of shipments processed, number of errors, failure costs, a standard is determined periodically with the Supervisor.
What we expect from the candidate:
· A candidate who is motivated and ready to join the company for long time and deliver valuable contribution to the team and goals PTP Netherlands strives.
· Related experience in logistics is an advantage, but not an essential requirement.
· Basic computer skills including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, e-mail communication.
· Strongly and professional communication skills, both orally and in writing, are essential.
· Excellent containment of the Chinese and English language in writing and verbal. Dutch language is a plus.
· Flexible, accurate and eager to learn and develop yourself.
· Available on fulltime bases (40 hours a week)
· No 9-5 mentality.
