Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist

We are looking for a Senior Strategic Sourcing Specialist to join our Reynosa, Mexico Team.
How You’ll Help us Connect the World
The successful Strategic Sourcing Senior Specialist will be knowledgeable about the aspects of Comm Scope's business and of how the supply chain impacts our position.
Under general direction manages the activities of team members and leads procurement assignments; responsible for raw material and expense purchases, managing the vendor base, identifying cost reduction opportunities, negotiating contracts, and contributing to the make vs. buy decision process. Sr. Specialist will actively manage the team members directly reporting to the position.
This position reports to the Procurement Manager and her/his responsibilities are considered integral to the success and profitability of the business. Continuous review and analysis of strategy is required to accommodate changes in market dynamics. Senior Specialist must help formulate strategy, recommend and implement tactical solutions and adjust accordingly. From time to time will be acting manager for the entire Procurement team when deemed necessary by the Procurement Manager.
Ideal candidate must be able to successfully multitask several disparate assignments. Sources of information must be cultivated, and relationships developed, both internal and external to Comm Scope. He/she must be able to communicate clearly and effectively the overall corporate strategies to a wide audience and deploy the necessary steps to accomplish the corporate task assignments
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise the procurement of direct materials, and responsibility for indirect materials (MRO) and services including highly complex products and service providers. Ensure that all orders are maintained in the SAP database and that all payment, delivery issues, etc. are resolved.
Supervise the activities of reporting team members. Responsible for personnel management in terms of prioritizing staff workloads, develop and train direct reports to ensure high skills levels.
Conduct cost/price analysis for all products under jurisdiction. Analyze historical commodity trends and contribute to the development of projected commodity strategy.
Coordinate effective Supply Chain Management activities.
Maintain high ethical standards and professionalism ensuring positive working relationship with supplier base. Manage supplier delivery/quality problems, capacity constraints, etc.
Continue to analyze and assess the adequacy of our supplier base for each assigned commodity and to develop additional sources of supply where deemed advantageous.
Identifies commodities for strategic sourcing agreements and screens buyer commitment reports on an ongoing basis to identify new part categories or individual part numbers for strategic sourcing.
Support the commodity/category managers as needed.

Required Qualifications for Consideration
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Business, Industrial Engineer or a Purchasing related area.
- A minimum of 8 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
- Proficient in English Language (written and spoken).
- A minimum 3 years supervision experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Customer oriented/proactive, open to change, teamwork attitude.
- Strong leadership capabilities to deliver results and to build cross-cultural teams.
