Job Description:
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Yard Hand with forklift operation experience to join our team. The Yard Hand will be responsible for managing and organising the yard, loading and unloading materials, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of a forklift. This role requires a hands-on individual with a strong attention to detail, safety consciousness, and the ability to work well in a team environment.
Responsibilities

• Safely operate a forklift to load, unload, and transport materials within the yard and to/from delivery vehicles.
• Maintain a clean and organised yard by properly stacking materials, removing debris, and ensuring walkways are clear.
• Assist with the loading and unloading of materials from trucks and trailers, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage.
• Work closely with other yard hands, drivers, and warehouse personnel to coordinate the efficient movement of materials.
• Assist with the inventory management of materials, including counting, recording, and reporting discrepancies.
• Contribute to a culture of safety in the workplace.

Requirements

• Valid forklift operator certification.
• Previous experience in loading or handling heavy materials, preferably precast concrete, is highly desirable.
• Ability to follow instructions and work independently and as part of a team.
• Requires standing, lifting, and operating heavy machinery for extended periods.
