Job Purpose:
The Relief Worker will be engaged on the authority of the Service Manager(s) to provide short-term locum cover for planned and un-planned absences, in the supported housing and other services operated by Galway Simon Community.
Main duties & Responsibilities:
Clients
Support clients from all backgrounds and experiences, in a calm, effective, trauma informed manner to maximise their health, self-care, education, community engagement, home management skills, and their overall well-being with the goal of independent living.
Service Delivery
Systematically log and record all interventions with and behalf of clients on relevant systems, work in an organised and efficient manner with clear communication within the team to deliver high-quality professional service.
Compliance
Stay compliant with all organisation policies, stay up to date on mandatory training, participate in routine maintenance, inspections and cleaning in line with health and safety standards.
General
Willingness to adapt as needed to support client and service needs.

Person specification:
· Qualification – FETAC Level 5 in Care or relevant discipline
· Experience - 1-year relevant experience in a similar role in a care setting
· Driving - Valid, full clean driver’s licence
· Distinct Advantage - Knowledge/Experience of homeless sector, Trauma Informed Approach
