Job Description & Person Specification
Job Title: Senior Financial Manager
Reporting To: Board of Directors
Purpose of the Post: Manage the financial function within the company
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Complete management and supervision of the finance department.
  • Fulfil the role of company secretary and complete all related company secretarial filings.
  • Attendance at Board meetings, AGM and preparation of minutes.
  • Preparation of management accounts for monthly board meeting.
  • Processing of monthly payroll and related ROS filings.
  • Preparation of VAT returns (ROI & UK) and related ROS filings.
  • Perform periodic financial analysis to detect and resolve problems.
  • Preparation of budgets.
  • Organisation of and participation in annual budgets.
  • Overall banking function to be managed.
  • Ensure debtors are maintained within agreed credit limits.
  • Ensure purchase ledger is managed with reasonable credit terms.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and record depreciation and revaluation adjustments.
  • Monitor and analyse costs incurred each month. Refer to appropriate person in relation to issues or variances and consistently pursue a line of investigation each month providing detailed information to relevant manager on key areas of concern.
  • Deal with any day-to-day queries and liaise with other finance personnel on all matters pertaining to the management accounts.
  • Ensure that correct controls are in place.
  • Compare and review actual costs incurred to budget, investigating variances. Raise awareness of key areas of concern.
  • Generate reports and documentation in a structured and professional format, communicate issues in writing and maintain the relevant administrative records for an appropriate period of time.
  • Carry out assigned duties or project related work within an agreed deadline/time frame.
  • Ensure all employee’s are trained on all duties and training recorded
  • Facilitate effective department communication and conduct regular department meetings with minutes.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
  • To take on ad hoc tasks as and when requested
  • To attend training sessions as and when required
  • To carry out any additional reasonable requests by the Board or other members of management.
  • Ensure that all tasks are completed in accordance with Health & Safety regulations.
  • To facilitate effective communication within the department and throughout the business.
PERSON SPECIFICATION
This role requires the successful candidates to be a well presented individual with a high level of attention to detail. Candidate must be fluent in English both written and spoken.

Knowledge
  • ACA or ACA
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or relevant field.
Experience
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role
  • In-depth knowledge of financial regulations and accounting processes.
  • Experience in hospitality sector is an advantage but it not essential
Candidate must be legally able to work in Ireland.

Pay: €65,000.00-€75,000.00 per year
Schedule:
  • Monday to Friday

  • Leaving Certificate (preferred)
