*Position Overview*
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Dairy Herd Manager who is eager to grow into the role of Farm Manager. This is a unique opportunity for an individual with a deep understanding of dairy herd management to take on a leadership position and eventually oversee all dairy farm operations.
*Key Responsibilities*
- Herd Management - Oversee the health and productivity of our dairy herd, ensuring high standards of animal welfare.
- Team Leadership - Lead and train farm staff, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.
- Operational Efficiency - Implement and monitor efficient dairy farming practices, including robotic milking procedures, feeding schedules, and health monitoring.
- Record Keeping - Maintain accurate records of herd performance, health and production.
- Farm Management Training - Work closely with the current Farm Manager to learn all aspects of farm management, including grass measuring, resource allocation and strategic planning.
- Proven experience in robotic dairy herd management is preferred but not essential, with a strong track record of improving herd health and productivity.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Strong organizational and record-keeping abilities.
- Passion for sustainable farming practices and animal welfare.
- Eagerness to learn and take on increasing responsibilities leading to the role of Farm Manager.
