The Pastry Cooks responsibilities include preparing quality pastry items such as desserts, breads, ice creams, sorbets, creams, simple syrups, and special request items. To produce all orders required by business volume and supervisor, as quickly and efficiently as possible, and to produce the highest quality product.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute all pastry orders and accommodate special requests
• Demonstrate skill in baking pastries, desserts, cakes, cookies, sweets, pies, etc.
• Create enticing confectionery decorations and delicious pastry fillings, as well as keeping up with new pastry baking techniques
• Apply classic pastry baking techniques when preparing traditional pastries
• Maintain pastry production sheet and follow through with assigned prep items
• Perform daily dry storage, walk-in refrigerator, and freezers inspected each of your shifts to ensure it is clean, and all pastry related items are put away properly
• Be aware of food cost by effectively scaling ingredients, minimizing waste, and preventing theft
• Monitor equipment and ensuring all specialized pastry baking tools are in working order
• Setting up workstations with all necessary supplies
• Ensure clear communication in the kitchen
• Ensure all orders are completed in time and with the correct priority
• Always maintain the highest level of cleanliness and hygiene standards Physical
• Must be able to stand, stoop, lift and bend for eight hours or more
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 8KG or more, with or without assistance

Requirements:

• Minimum 1 year of experience working as a pastry line cook
• Knowledge of safety, sanitation, and accident prevention principles
• Able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to use knives proficiently
• Understand kitchen equipment and its standard usage
• Must be available to work on different shifts, weekends, and holidays.
