Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$63,750 - $145,200

What You’ll Be Doing:

In this position, you will impact the way automation is delivered across the company. To do this, you will help in implementing automation tools, build system integrations, develop, and publish automation APIs. You will be strategically placed within our Automation Center of Excellence to lead and drive automation capability growth.


How
You’ll Succeed:

  • Continually assess and manage the customer experience of enterprise automation technologies, driving continual improvement and growth of our capability suite. This requires a love of technology, the desire for technical depth, and agility to learn.
  • Leverage creative thinking to rapidly deliver automated solutions or evaluations as demos or proof-of-concepts using low code/out-of-the-box technology where possible, identifying opportunities for automation reuse.
  • Managing a world-class automation ecosystem, ensuring that the technology solutions and architectures are stable, secure, performant, compliant, resilient, and reliable for usage at scale. This requires strong relationships with software vendors, support teams, and customers to drive value based on internal need for automation growth at Lilly.
  • Enable a self-service automation portal to publish automation APIs and accelerators with intention to be consumed by the automation team and across Tech@Lilly.
  • Implement and enhance an improved automation metrics and KPI strategy, including definitions, measurements, and dashboards/visualizations providing critical visibility to the team’s project delivery as well as business specific KPIs.

What You Should Bring:

  • The ability to build and implement new automation technologies via Saa S, Hybrid and on-prem platforms and an understanding of delivery of a federated capability.
  • Experience evaluating new automation technologies, creating vendor questionnaires and scoring templates to determine the best technical match for the business need.
  • Proficiency managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting multiple Development, QA, and Prod environments, and experience automating the provisioning, configuration, and deprovisioning of infrastructure.
  • Familiarity in building integrations and connectors across systems to deliver and consume reusable automation components (both internally for the team and across Tech@Lilly).
  • Experience establishing and automating key infrastructure metrics to provide notifications and visibility to critical business systems.
  • AWS or Azure expertise as well as tech involving one or more of business automation solutions, end-to-end workflows, process improvement and optimization, content management, chat bots, robotic process automation (RPA), process mining, and automated testing and frameworks.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related technical field
  • 5+ years' experience in technology delivery and/or working in a full-stack software development environment
  • OR
  • High School Diploma/GED plus 6-7+ years of experience in technology delivery and/or working in a full-stack software development environment
  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position.

Additional Preferernces
  • 5+ years demonstrating technical expertise in automation development, architecture and solutioning and delivering automation projects with experience leading and mentoring others
  • 5+ years of programming experience, ideally in one of the following languages (Python, Java Script Frameworks -Node JS, Angular, React, etc.)
  • Experience in End-to-end Dev Ops (Jira, Git Hub, Git Hub Action, CI/CD)
