Project Title: Sustained Attention: Psychological Construct, Neural Mechanisms & Clinical
Application

[Appointment Period: 12 months]

We are seeking a Research Assistant for a 12-month appointment to work on the project "Sustained
Attention: Psychological Construct, Neural Mechanisms & Clinical Application." This innovative
research project will utilise the EEG-based Brain-Computer Interface paradigm to investigate the
relationship between attention states and cognitive performance. The successful candidate will
conduct literature reviews, develop cognitive tasks, and create EEG-based brain state classifiers.
Additional responsibilities include data collection, management, analysis, manuscript writing, and
report preparation.


Candidates should possess a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Cognitive Science, Computer Science,
or a related discipline. Essential requirements include written and spoken English, Chinese, and
Cantonese proficiency. The ideal candidate should demonstrate a strong interest in human behaviour,
brain science and machine learning and have programming skills in MATLAB or Python. We are
looking for someone self-motivated, responsible, and capable of working independently and as part
of a team. Knowledge of statistical analysis using R and SPSS would be an advantage but is optional.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include contract-end
