The Department of Science and Environmental Studies (SES) offers both undergraduate and postgraduate academic programs
and conducts research in the core areas of core areas of Science/STEM Education and Environmental Studies.

The Department is seeking to recruit a dedicated and emerging scholar for the position of Assistant Professor in Chemis try,
Biology, Physics or environment-related disciplines. The ideal candidate should possess knowledge and experience in
Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) criteria and/or Environmental Management. The successful candidate will be
expected to contribute to teaching and curriculum development at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, secure research
funding, and conduct research that leads to publications in recognized peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, the candidate will
supervise students' field experiences, Honors/Capstone projects, and internships and engage in departmental activities and
professional services for the community.

Applicants should hold a doctoral degree in a relevant discipline and demonstrate strong research capabilities , along with an
impressive record of teaching and research in related fields. Experience in the tertiary education sector and a commitment to
high-quality teaching will be considered advantageous.

Key Responsibilities:

• Contribute to teaching and curriculum/program development at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.

• Obtain research funding and conduct research leading to publications in recognized refereed journals.

• Supervise students’ field experiences, Honours/Capstone projects, and internships.

• Participate actively in departmental activities and provide professional services to the community.
  

Qualifications:

• A doctoral degree in a related discipline.

• Demonstrated strong research capability and an impressive teaching and research track record in related fields.

• Post-qualification teaching experience in the tertiary education sector and a commitment to high -quality teaching will be

advantageous.

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Initial appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract. Fringe benefits include the University’s Voluntary Contributions to
MPF Scheme or a contract-end lump sum payment (totaling up to 15% of the basic salary), leave, medical and dental benefits, and,
