Job Purpose:
The IT Stock Control Specialist is responsible for managing and tracking the inventory of IT equipment and supplies within the organization This role ensures that all hardware, software, and peripheral devices are properly stocked, organized, and readily available for use by the IT department and other internal teams The specialist will collaborate with the IT and procurement teams to monitor stock levels, place orders, and maintain accurate records of IT assets

Job Purpose:
The IT Stock Control Specialist is responsible for managing and tracking the inventory of IT equipment and supplies within the organization This role ensures that all hardware, software, and peripheral devices are properly stocked, organized, and readily available for use by the IT department and other internal teams The specialist will collaborate with the IT and procurement teams to monitor stock levels, place orders, and maintain accurate records of IT assets
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Oversee the tracking and organization of all IT-related inventory, including computers, networking equipment, software licenses, cables, peripherals, and accessories
- Maintain accurate records of stock levels, item conditions, and location of assets
- Perform regular physical inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies between physical and system records
- Work with IT and procurement teams to forecast inventory needs and assist in placing orders for IT equipment and software
- Monitor stock levels to prevent shortages or overstocking
- Research and evaluate suppliers for quality, price, and delivery times to ensure the best value for the company
- Ensure all IT assets are tagged and tracked according to company policies and procedures
- Coordinate the allocation, return, and disposal of IT assets, including decommissioning old equipment
- Maintain accurate records of IT asset lifecycle, including purchases, deployments, maintenance, and decommissioning
- Generate regular inventory reports for IT management, highlighting stock levels, usage trends, and potential shortages
- Analyze trends in equipment usage and make recommendations for optimization and cost control
- Assist with audits and compliance reviews by providing inventory documentation and supporting data
- Manage storage areas for IT equipment, ensuring proper handling, labeling, and organization of items to prevent damage or loss
- Coordinate the shipping and receiving of IT equipment, ensuring timely delivery and proper documentation

- Assist IT support teams with asset tracking and management during system upgrades, deployments, and rollouts
- Ensure all IT stock control procedures comply with company policies and industry standards

Job Skills and Abilities:
- Proven experience in inventory control, logistics, or IT asset management Familiarity with IT equipment, hardware, software, and asset management systems (eg, Service Now, Manage Engine, etc
- )
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Proficiency with inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc
- )
- Basic knowledge of IT hardware and software components
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
- Ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor’s degree in information technology, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
- 2 - 3 years of experience
