The Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy in Cairo’s Empowering English Educators Empowering English Educators (EEE) supporting Public Universities’ English Instructors and Teaching Assistants program aims to provide professional development to up to 300 Egyptian university English language teaching assistants from across Egypt. This program is designed to enhance participants' knowledge and skills, improve English language proficiency, deepen their understanding of American culture, introduce cutting-edge English language teaching methods, and foster life skills and critical thinking abilities.
The EEE program includes a one-week intensive course focused on the practical application of Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) principles and best practices. The course covers critical topics such as critical thinking, classroom management, supporting learners with disabilities, and the integration of 21st-century skills. Amideast is proud to serve as the implementing partner for this transformative initiative.
Position Description
The EEE Trainer is responsible for equipping English instructors / teacher assistants with a strong foundation in core TESOL principles and practical strategies to effectively integrate these concepts into university-level coursework. This role includes completing a specialized teacher training course on customized EEE methodologies and delivering engaging, in-person training sessions based on the EEE curriculum.

Responsibilities
The tasks and responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
? Conduct training sessions for selected English instructors and teacher assistants using pre-introduced materials, in alignment with the selection process facilitated by Amideast in collaboration with the Regional English Language Office (RELO).
? Collaborate with English instructors/teaching assistants to enhance their TESOL proficiency, emphasizing the practical application of knowledge through tasks, activities, and assignments.
? Adhere to Amideast's instructional framework, ensuring all training materials meet Amideast’s quality standards.
? Maintain accurate participant attendance records using the prescribed forms.
? Evaluate participants’ progress by completing the Amideast Trainee Assessment Form.
? Complete administrative tasks, including reporting, payment documentation, and technical reports, within designated timeframes.
? Foster a positive, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for participants.
? Promote tolerance and respect for diversity, including racial, social, economic, religious, and gender equality, throughout the workshop.
? Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of participants during the workshop and related activities
Qualifications and Requirements
? A Master's degree in TESOL or a related field, or an equivalent accredited training certificate.
? A minimum of three years of experience in training.
? Exceptional interpersonal, communication, collaboration, presentation, and leadership skills.
? Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (e.g., Word, Power Point).
? Proven English language proficiency at a C1+ level or higher on the CEFR scale, as evidenced by a valid TOEFL, IELTS, or equivalent certification.
? Strong familiarity with and application of current, interactive, and learner-centered teaching methodologies.
? A working knowledge of modern technology and its integration into educational settings.
