Are you passioned about product development and does it excite you to work with high-tech analytical instruments like Lasers, X-rays, Near infrared (NIR) Spectroscopy & Chemical analysis?
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior mechanical engineer to help develop the next generation of cutting-edge analytic instruments.
Your future team “Design & Integration” in Mechanics, R&D Hardware
We have many new exiting projects in the pipeline as well as existing projects that require us to expand the team to support our innovation journey. We typically work in teams of 2-3 mechanical engineers on a multidisciplinary project in collaboration with specialists from functions like electronics, software, technology, chemical/biochemical and data science. You are involved from early concept to final product and are responsible for developing mechanical solutions for our high-tech analytical instruments.
You will have the opportunity to take on the responsibility as knowledge domain owner for one or more disciplines e.g. materials, tolerance chains, design reviews, 3D CAD, kinematics, flow system etc. which means that there is room for both your personal and professional development as well as using your skills to guide and review work from other mechanical engineers to ensure we deliver high quality in the solutions to the market.
Design & Integration is part of the department, “Mechanics” in R&D hardware. We have a range of support functions and facilities such as technical assistants, supporting with change handling, 2D drawings, service manuals, bill of material, a simulation team supporting with FEA simulations, a tool shop with facilities including a CNC machine, a laser cutter and several 3D printers.
The Design & Integration mechanical engineers belong to “Mechanics” in R&D Hardware department, which comprises of more than 68 developers and makes up about 1/4 of the R&D organization in FOSS - and we are growing.
Professional & personal competences
You hold a bachelor´s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, you are fluent in English and Danish and have 5 - 10 years working experience within many of the following areas:

- Solid Experience with designing mechanical solutions which contain electronics and electro mechanics
- Solid Expertise with using 3D/2D CAD design (we use Autodesk Inventor)
- Solid Experience with systematic product development in all phases from concepting to final product
- Solid experience with designing injection molded parts
- Experience with prototyping techniques and additive manufacturing methods
- Strong experience with tolerance calculations
- Experienced with Df M & Df A
- Experience with material selection
