Job Title: Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS Experience)
Location: Costa Rica
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Cloud Engineer with a strong background in Amazon Web Services (AWS) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure solutions, with a focus on optimizing performance, security, and cost-efficiency. This role requires a hands-on professional who can architect complex solutions and guide junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:

Cloud Architecture and Design

Design and implement secure, scalable, and high-performance cloud infrastructure on AWS.
Architect solutions that meet current and future business requirements, ensuring best practices in cloud design.

Infrastructure as Code (Ia C)

Use tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or CDK to automate infrastructure deployment and management.
Ensure Ia C principles are embedded across all infrastructure components for consistent, reliable deployments.

Dev Ops and Automation

Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines to support a continuous integration and delivery model.
Automate processes to improve efficiency and reduce operational overhead.

Security and Compliance

Implement and manage robust security controls and best practices on AWS, including IAM, VPC security, and encryption.
Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal security policies.

Performance Optimization and Cost Management

Monitor cloud infrastructure for performance, scalability, and cost-effectiveness.
Make recommendations for cost-saving opportunities and performance enhancements.

Troubleshooting and Support

Lead troubleshooting efforts for cloud infrastructure issues, collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve incidents.
Provide mentorship and guidance to junior cloud engineers, fostering a culture of learning and growth within the team.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
5+ years of experience in cloud engineering with a primary focus on AWS services.
Strong proficiency in AWS core services (e.g., EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, VPC).
Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or AWS CDK.
Solid understanding of networking, security protocols, and cloud security best practices.
Proficient with CI/CD tools and processes (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI/CD, Code Pipeline).
Strong scripting skills (Python, Bash, or other relevant languages) for automation purposes.

Preferred Qualifications:

AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Professional) or AWS Certified Dev Ops Engineer.
Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies (Docker, Kubernetes, EKS).
Knowledge of multi-cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Azure) is a plus.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Soft Skills:

Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Effective time management, organization, and prioritization skills.
Ability to work independently as well as in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
