Job Title: Lead Cloud Engineer

Position Summary
The Lead Cloud Engineer will design and implement IT infrastructure solutions in the cloud (primarily AWS) to support business and technical requirements. This includes managing systems, middleware, databases, storage, and network infrastructure. The Lead Cloud Engineer is responsible for deploying, testing, and certifying technology platforms, troubleshooting and debugging applications and infrastructure components, and recommending enhancements to ensure stable operations. The role also includes maintaining and patching systems to address security vulnerabilities and keep technology current.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance cloud architectures that meet organizational needs.
• Evaluate and recommend cloud services and technologies aligned with business objectives.
• Oversee the deployment, management, and maintenance of cloud environments, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and cost-efficiency.
• Enforce security best practices in the cloud, ensuring compliance with security policies and regulatory standards.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts and tools to streamline cloud operations.
• Collaborate with Dev Ops teams to integrate cloud services within CI/CD pipelines.
• Set up monitoring tools to assess the performance and health of cloud infrastructure.
• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of cloud-related issues.
• Monitor and optimize cloud expenditures, working to ensure cost-effectiveness.
• Provide cost projections and budgeting insights to support financial planning.
• Work closely with development, operations, and security teams to understand and address cloud-related needs.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for cloud-related queries and escalations.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and advancements in cloud technologies.
• Drive initiatives to continuously improve the efficiency and effectiveness of cloud operations.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
• Extensive experience with major cloud platforms, particularly AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Proven success in designing and implementing cloud architectures for large-scale applications.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (Ia C) tools, such as Terraform, Cloud Formation, or ARM templates.
• Strong understanding of networking, security, and identity management in cloud environments.
• Experience with containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) and serverless architecture.
• Preferred certifications include AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert.
