What you will do

Several projects are continuously ongoing in our BMS department. During an internship, you can therefore gain hands-on experience in the following areas, among other things:

• Building a customized CMDB platform: due to our growth, we are looking for a CMDB platform that will keep track of all necessary information about hardware (IPs, locations, etc.) and maintenance (Eo Support dates, Eo Live dates, etc.) at our customers. Hereto, you will have to scan the market options and present the pros and cons of each product in order to choose a software. Then the software has to be set up according to the necessary security policies (2FA, …) and requirements and the data migrated into it.
• Research into message integration possibilities of CDRs created on matrix layer and probing: in order to optimise the monitoring investment towards the customer and to be able to propose the best possible solution both technically and commercially, we want to look into the possibility of optimising processes with a central big data platform and different sourcing tools, and to get the best return on the investment of different software platforms. In this framework, you will get a look and feel of different technologies such as Kafka, CDRs, Service provider networks, …. as well as gain a basic understanding of how a service provider network functions, making this assignment a varied challenge.
• Research Kafka into an industry-standard real-time streaming platform: research on capacity, setup, authentication, security, … to see if we can improve our current implementations on these parameters.
• Research on Net Scout OMNIS/OCI capabilities: Net Scout is the world leader in network traffic visualisation and analysis. OCI/OMNIS are software modules of the Net Scout software that will focus on security, among other things, but do much more than this. The aim of the internship is to find out what all these software modules have to offer in terms of cybersecurity.
• Developing a script that analyzes our used software tools debug information: one of the issues we are currently experiencing is that it takes more time than needed to analyze the debug log files of our application that we are selling to our customers. In order to be more efficient on this matter is to build a script that takes the most important parameters (g. process memory, processing drops, …) out of the debuglog files and visualizes it in easy, readable manner. This would save us time in analyzing a problem and we would be able to provide a better and quicker service to our customer.
• Analyzing the options and possibilities with the use of AI to create intelligent monitoring: within our BMS department, we use several software vendors, which have their own strengths and weaknesses in the world of monitoring. The assignment here is combining all these possibilities and study, with the use of several smart features like AI, how to come to a smart monitoring platform which makes use of all monitoring data sources in house (g. linking performance problems of a laptop accessing the WIFI to a specific hotspot problem, …).
• Research Vo LTE communications/RTP streams in the field of Vo LTE communications and its integration into bigdata platforms. The aim of this internship is to find out how all the fields are completed that are provided by the monitoring vendor.

The above topics are just some examples of possible internship assignments. Depending on ongoing projects and needs of our customers, other assignments are possible.
