Grade 3 Speech Pathologist

Fixed term 13/01/2025- 09/01/2026 parental leave backfill

Full time 38 hrs per week or part time job share

Work allocation: Senior Speech Pathologist, Continuing Care

We are seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Speech Pathologist to join our team to fill a parental leave vacancy.

About the Speech Pathology Department

We have over 30 speech pathologists working across all three sites of Austin Health, in acute care, sub-acute care, rehabilitation and community programs. We function as one department and work in clinical teams in a supportive, friendly environment. Our work includes clinical services, research, quality and improvement, staff and student education.

About the role

This position is based in our Continuing Care Stream and will work as part of the stream under the guidance of the Grade 4 Sub Acute stream leaders.

The Continuing Care Stream provides services across two hospital campuses (Heidelberg Repatriation Hospital & Royal Talbot Rehabilitation Hospital and in home care via the Better @ Home Program)

A regular day will see you:

Undertaking a swallowing assessment

Providing communication assessment or therapy

Attending a team meeting

Coordinating a quality activity

Providing supervision to another Speech Pathologist or AHA

About You

As one of the Senior Speech Pathologists, you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to

excellence in patient care. You’ll bring experience in leading a team and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.
