Optus & AI
At Optus, bandwagons aren’t really our thing.
We’ve been using AI to improve the lives of our customers for almost ten years. From understanding the root cause of customer issues and proactively resolving them, to using it to inform our investment decisions, AI is embedded into what we do. With new cutting-edge tech at our fingertips, exciting partnerships under our belt and around every corner (Google and Samsung to name a couple), and a growing collective of talented people, we’re taking AI at Optus to the next level.
We’re bringing together the most curious-minded people to solve real problems, connect Australians like never before, and help shape the future of Optus while we’re at it. And your future too. We’re already on our way, and ahead of lots of the competition. Now’s the time to go bigger than ever.
This is no ‘quick win’ – we’re in this for the long haul because we know the positive impact it can make on our customers, communities and colleagues. We’re committed to doing it responsibly and ethically and we want you to be a part of it. You’re invited to join the Optus AI Tribe.
Big opportunities
We’re serious when we say we’re looking for people to define the future of AI at Optus. As a Senior Delivery Manager at Optus, you’ll lead cross-functional teams to deliver impactful business and technology projects, ensuring outcomes are achieved on time, on budget, and to scope. You’ll collaborate across a matrixed organisation, working with talented teams and cutting-edge tools to navigate complex environments using Agile, Hybrid, and Waterfall methodologies. You’ll drive innovation and foster a learning culture while empowering teams to exceed expectations. Your exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills will play a key role in shaping our vision to become Australia’s most loved everyday brand, leaving a lasting impact on both your career and Optus’ future.
Your day to day will consist of...
-
Leading the end-to-end delivery of programs and projects, ensuring seamless execution from planning to operational handover
-
Building and maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to align on project goals and expectations
-
Defining project scope, deliverables, and roadmaps while coordinating estimation, planning, and mobilisation activities
-
Monitoring budgets, timelines, and risks, providing regular updates through governance structures and detailed reporting mechanisms
-
Overseeing compliance with change advisory processes and ensuring successful transitions to business-as-usual (BAU) operations
What makes you perfect for the role?
-
Proven delivery experience across traditional, hybrid, or Agile methodologies, with a strong preference for Agile environments
-
Ability to work cross-functionally, building strong relationships with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external vendors to drive successful outcomes
-
Comfortable navigating dynamic environments, demonstrating adaptability and resilience in the face of change and ambiguity
-
Extensive experience in managing large, complex programs, with budgets exceeding $3M and teams of 10+ resources in matrix or outsourced service models
-
Familiarity with Data and AI tools and engineering software, particularly in collaboration with product and engineering teams
-
Experience working with Agile teams in a Tribe or Chapter-based structure
