This an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Occupational Therapist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team to provide assessment and treatment to people admitted to Ryde Hospital for acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. The position operates under the supervision of a Senior Occupational Therapist and is supported by a team of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants. Rotation options include Acute care and Rehabilitation.

Where you'll be working

Ryde Hospital Northern Sydney Local Health District. The Occupational Therapy team consists of Occupational Therapists and Allied Health Assistants, each working in a multidisciplinary team providing assessment and treatment to people admitted to Ryde Hospital for acute care and inpatient rehabilitation. You will join a highly motivated team, which has a strong culture of clinical supervision and training, professional development and quality improvement programme.

Ryde Hospital is having an incredible $479 million complete hospital redevelopment that will transform the delivery of healthcare for the Ryde local community.

The Ryde Hospital Redevelopment will result in new health facilities and enhanced services including emergency, ICU/critical care, inpatient units, outpatient/ambulatory care services and much more.

Construction commenced in early 2023, and will provide you with a wonderful and exciting opportunity to be part of the Ryde team to change the future health services for the Ryde Community completely.

What you'll be doing
To provide a high level of occupational therapy services to patients and clients.

People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:

Must hold registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia.

Demonstrated well developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders. Demonstrated computer literacy and ability to use health information systems.

Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage workload demands, meet deadlines and complete activities (including ability to work within scope of practice and seek assistance when required).

Demonstrate skills and knowledge in the provision of Occupational Therapy service to consumers, carers and families requiring assessment, environmental modifications, home modifications, appropriate referral and discharge planning.
