Your opportunity
This dynamic role offers the opportunity to play a pivotal part in supporting the Capital and Asset Accounting Team Manager in delivering essential asset accounting services and strategic advice across the organisation. You will take the lead in capitalising costs from Work in Progress, creating and maintaining detailed and accurate asset registers, reconciling these with the general ledger, and running critical monthly depreciation processes. Your expertise will be instrumental in advising stakeholders on complex asset accounting issues, managing asset capture, disposal, and adjustments, and ensuring the seamless posting of financial transactions, including revaluations and developer-contributed assets.
You’ll be a key player in reconciling Work in Progress accounts for high-value projects and maintaining data integrity for financial systems. Beyond the numbers, this role offers the chance to contribute to the refinement of asset policies and procedures, collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholders, and support audit processes to ensure compliance and accuracy. You'll also help drive operational improvements to asset systems and Geographic Information Systems (GIS), bringing innovation and efficiency to the forefront.

The role demands the ability to plan and manage multiple tasks or projects simultaneously to meet deadlines, alongside strong interpersonal communication skills to build and maintain cooperative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Effective written communication skills are essential for producing quality documentation, and candidates must possess well-developed computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Excel, the Microsoft Office suite, and financial and asset management systems.

Eligibility
You'll hold a current Class C drivers licence.
You'll have a tertiary qualification in Business, Accounting or equivalent which allows membership to CPA Australia or equivalent professional body OR substantial and appropriate experience in a financial reporting environment to achieve the key accountabilities of the role
