The Chief Veterinary Officer (CVO) serves as the State's leading expert and authority on animal health and biosecurity. The CVO provides strategic and technical leadership, guiding the development and implementation of policies, emergency response programs, and surveillance systems that safeguard agricultural productivity and access to domestic and international markets.
