This full-time or part-time temporary opportunity offers up to 40 hours per week, and the option to sign on as a regular employee or join our float pool after 60 days. It is a great summer job for college students who will be returning to classes in the fall.
**Position requires up to a week of new employee orientation and the availability to work every other weekend.
Mental Health Technicians work directly with patients to provide support and hope. The Mental Health Technician position serves as an awesome foundation for people looking to grow their career in the area of nursing, therapy, social work, and substance use disorders.
Prairie St. John's has been providing services for children, adolescents, and adults to address behavioral health and substance use challenges since 1997. Prairie offers inpatient hospitalization, day treatment, intensive outpatient services, MAT and supportive housing. Accredited by The Joint Commission, we are the largest, freestanding behavioral health facility in the region. More than 5,000 patients receive care from our compassionate health care team each year at Prairie St. John's.

Mental Health Technician Job Requirements:

• Good communication and relationship skills including the ability to set boundaries, hold confidences, establish and maintain trust
• Experience working with people struggling with mental health or substance use and/or pursuing a degree in nursing, psychology, sociology, pre-med, social work, counseling or other behavioral science related majors
