From the Vegetables Business Unit, we are looking to recruit a Breeder Assistant, based in Antalya, Turkey.


What will be your purpose at Semillas Fitó?
Reporting to the breeders at the station, your main mission will be to assist in the execution of key activities for one or more horticultural crop breeding programs, primarily focused on observation, data collection from various plant materials, and processing this data.


What will your responsibilities be?
You will implement trials following the assigned Breeder's guidelines, including:

• Sowing, transplanting, sampling, hybridization, harvesting, seed extraction, seed disinfection and packaging, storage, labeling, organizing inventory, etc.
• Monitoring trials and assisting during the selection process.
• Data collection, including digital phenotyping: Hybrid and breeding trials.
• Initial evaluation following the breeder’s guidelines: Hybrid and breeding trials.
• Managing the breeding program's database.
• Conducting experiments.
• Supervising and assigning tasks to workers involved in the projects.

Requirements
You are the talent we are looking for if...

• You have a degree in Agricultural or Agronomic Engineering, Biotechnology, or similar fields.
• You have experience with horticultural crops in greenhouses.
• Previous experience in conducting trials or assisting with breeding programs for horticultural crops will be valued.
• You have a valid Driver’s License
• You are a native Turkish speaker and have intermediate-advanced English proficiency. Knowledge of additional languages will be considered a plus.
