Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will shape a proactive and positive health, safety, and environmental (HSE) culture within the Motion System Drives, Traction, and Energy Storage production areas. As a subject matter expert, you will support managers in fulfilling their HSE responsibilities by ensuring compliance with relevant local legislation and company policies. You will act as a role model in applying in-depth knowledge of HSE practices to the production environment, providing practical solutions and expert advice to a variety of challenges. This role requires strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams. Your motivation, commitment, and professionalism will be key to driving HSE excellence. The work model for the role is onsite #LI-onsite You will be mainly accountable for: • Acting as the key contact for local Motion Production System Drives, Traction, Energy Storage, and the Business Line HSE Manager while shaping and advancing an exemplary health and safety culture. • Supporting production managers by providing expert knowledge, ensuring the HSE management process, aligning local targets with global HSE objectives, and motivating leadership to fulfill their responsibilities under relevant legislation and ABB policies. • Reporting and investigating HSE incidents, sharing best practices, delivering training, and monitoring compliance through audits to ensure continuous improvement. • Conducting risk assessments, implementing corrective actions, and fostering a proactive approach to health, safety, and environmental excellence.

Qualifications for the role

• You have technical education in industry, ideally supplemented with a degree from a higher technical college (FH or HF), and are highly skilled in applying your knowledge to production environments and act in a solution-oriented manner.
• You bring proven experience in occupational health and safety, with ASGS training such as SUVA safety assistant or occupational safety specialist being a strong advantage, or you demonstrate the motivation to complete such training.
• Ideally, you have direct or indirect management experience and are enthusiastic about proactive communication.
• You are adept at working with the ISO 45001 standard and EKAS guideline 6508, combining technical expertise with the ability to explain complex issues and work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills in German, along with English proficiency.
