Job Title: Observability consultant (Grafana Expert)
Location: Helsingborg or Malmo, Sweden
Duration: 6-12 month contract
Working Mode: Hybrid
Job Description:
Background:
Our Observability enablement team needs a consultant who will work closely with various Observability solutions.. We will be quite autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together.
Help consumers acquire missing capabilities (around specific technical, or product related functionalities in the field of Observability) by bridging that/those capability gaps. E.g. by doing research, trying out options, making informed suggestions on adequate observability tooling, practices, frameworks..
Proactively seek to understand the needs of consumers.
Stay ahead of the curve in keeping abreast of new approaches and practices in their area of expertise, well before an actual need is expected from consumer.
Be a developer advocate to the Observability platformpromoting, learning not only inside the enabling team, but across consumers, acting as a facilitator of knowledge sharing within the organization.
The scope of the consultant services is to assist:
Proven experience as a Grafana expert with hands-on design and implementation of monitoring solutions.
Ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical concepts and scenarios around observability..
Skilled in Observability, managed as service using Grafana cloud or any similar.
Be extremely knowledgeable about an emerging and rapidly growing technology by understanding, communicating, and documenting best practices.
Ensure developers/consumers always get the help they need by providing brilliant documentation, thoughtful technical support, and fostering the tech community through the developer forum and Slack
Make consumers lives easier by building and improving documentation, demos, scripts, integrations in the area of Observability.
Ensure our offerings reflects the needs of the developers in our community by collecting feedback, logging bugs, and contributing to the product yourself
Experience in growing and nurturing open source community projects.
Desired knowledge, experience, competence, skills etc:
7+ years of experience of in the area of Observability and monitoring.
Experience and profound knowledge in the LGTM stack, Loki for logs, Grafana for visualisation, Tempo for traces, and Mimir for metrics.
Hands-on & practical experience of log aggregation related to Cloud Platforms, containerized (Docker, Kubernetes) deployments and CI/CD pipelines
Experienced in using Git and knowledge about Git Hub Copilot or other AI driven tools, and an awareness about it's pros and cons.
Proficiency in Scripting, Automation and software programming.
Experience in various observability toolsets and Observability best practices on SLO s SLIs (SRE concepts).
Someone who wants to make their career progressed as an evangelist, developer advocate, Dev Rel Engineer,or anequivalent role.
Strong Grafana knowledge and experience in evangelizing the same to our consumers
Practical knowledge on monitoring and observability together with software development principles.
Experience with event management products and cloud management at scale is beneficial.
Ability to synthesize and communicate complex technical concepts and scenarios around observability.
Up To Date knowledge with most of the Grafana cloud functionalities and features.
