Mitiga is a spinoff of the Barcelona Supercomputing Center, which hosts Mare Nostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe.

Mitiga's mission is firmly rooted in employing cutting-edge science and technology to mitigate the multifaceted risks posed by climate-driven perils. Our approach spans a spectrum of temporal scales, from real-time and annual forecasts to projections spanning the next century. This comprehensive perspective on risk, coupled with our capacity to transfer risks to capital markets via catastrophe bonds, positions us to significantly contribute to enhanced climate mitigation, resilience, and equity.

About the role
As an SMB Account Executive at Mitiga, you will work closely with our commercial team to support the growth of our business and help to drive the adoption and sales of our Earth Scan platform. Our ideal candidate has strong generalist skills and a proven background of commercial leadership. They are able to step into any role and help out with any project as needed. They will be a critical voice in enhancing and course-correcting our go-to-market.

Main Responsibilities
You will develop and run your own set of opportunities based on our commercial strategy and current go-to-market.
  • Generation and qualification of high-quality leads to secure enterprise customers
  • Position our offerings to business decision-makers
  • Coordinate and lead Mitiga’s technical, commercial and product pre-sales engagement
  • Negotiate and close annual subscription deals in key markets
  • Hit your revenue targets
  • Handover: ensure the smooth transition of a business to customer success / support
  • Be an educator - Identify and articulate the challenges facing the customer and explain how our science and product address their needs across multiple departments

You’ll also contribute to

  • Overall team development
  • Educating the rest of the business on commercial areas you are an expert in
  • Contributing insights and opinion to our overall commercial strategy
  • Science and product team feedback on customer needs, issues, trends
  • Proactively stay informed of shifts in climate regulations and policies and competitor news

Requirements
You’ll be a highly focussed and persuasive collaborator in your own right: you will bring customers onto our platform by demonstrating how our pioneering platform can help them make better decisions in the face of the new climate reality
  • 5+ yrs in risk-based tech/saas business environment, BD/Sales/Account Management
  • Proven at B2B Saa S platform or product sales in your own right
  • You’ll be well-versed in regulation/enterprise risk management and have some understanding of climate risk. Exceptional candidates who can demonstrate an ability to learn climate extremely fast will also be considered
  • You ultimately want to build a highly scalable BD engine and be the architect of your own success
  • Self-motivated, great teammate, accountable, and passionate about exceeding customer expectations
  • You’ll be thinking ‘big picture’: helping establish a brand-new market category by bringing the innovative approaches required to sell both an offering and a vision
  • You’ll possess an acute understanding of what it takes to work in a startup and the ability to thrive in an environment of pace, ambiguity and entrepreneurship
