EH&S Specialist II Lead

What You'll Be Doing:
First and foremost, you will be setting an example for all employees by upholding Rinchem Standards and Policies as well as Rinchem's core values. Our International EH&S Specialist II/Lead position will train, mentor and manage the performance of the EH&S employees. This position will identify and evaluate our current EH&S processes, systems and government reporting documentation to ensure Rinchem is in full compliance in all areas. As well as modeling safe and environmentally compliant behaviors, this position will be constantly making observations, creating an awareness of EH&S standards as well as making recommendations for continual improvement.

Scope and Responsibilities:Some of your duties will include:
  • Sets example for all employees by upholding One Rinchem Standards and Policies as well as Rinchem’s core values
  • Manages the performance of all EH&S Employees through One Rinchem Systems: Performance Scorecards, coaching, corrective written documentation when needed (if the position is a Lead)
  • Ensures that certifications are maintained and up to date, all Rinchem Training is maintained and up to date
  • Maintain a safe working area for all service center employees-make recommendations to management for improvement to any potentially dangerous environments and any at risk behaviors and takes actions to address the issues
  • Makes safety observations and passes onto management for coaching and development and/or makes recommendations for safer practices
  • Ensure that employees receive all necessary safety and regulatory training and escalates when employees are overdue
  • Maintain and develop government reporting documentation and ensures that such documentation is regularly posted for management decisions
  • Maintain and edit monthly recordable injury reports as required by Federal Government
  • Identify and evaluate EH&S hazards and ensures compliance with regulations
  • Ensure that all state, federal and local regulatory postings are accurate and up to date
  • Work closely with customers to ensure that all Safety and Regulatory impacts are reported and resolved
  • Investigate Safety incidents. Ensure all incidents are recorded as Deviation/CAPA and is completed within SLA. Recommend and implement corrective actions in Deviation/CAPA. Ensure that customer is satisfied with Rinchem’s actions and resolution of the problem
  • Ability to read and interpret regulations and work with Manager to apply the interpretations real-world scenarios
  • Maintain strong working knowledge with the statutory requirements related to the environmental, safety, and/or health regulations
  • Participate with management in the development of policies and assist with the development of systems, and procedures for the identification, collection, and analysis of performance measurement data relating to safety, provide regular reports to show metrics in these areas
  • Ensure Fire and Evacuation Drills are timely and create suggestions for improvement
  • Support, implement and maintain policies and procedures for training. Ensure all curriculums are current with all State and Federal Regulatory Agencies. Creates reports for management to determine any training deficiencies and recommends additional training when appropriate
  • Work as a liaison between Company and regulatory agencies to maintain a good working relationship with those who inspect the facilities for compliance with applicable regulations
  • Attend all Safety Meetings and create any presentations necessary, takes meeting minutes and stores in appropriate electronic file
  • Orders any necessary environmental or safety supplies needed
  • Works with EH&S and Transportation Manager to ensure Transportation regulatory compliance within the warehouse, docks and customer sites
  • Ensures that all products have an updated, easily accessible SDS and that all employees and any emergency responders have easy access
  • Performs Audit Checklists to ensure consistency
  • Other EH&S assignments as appropriate

Qualifications:
You should have the following:
  • Ability to analyze complex situations and make recommendations in accord with State, Local and Federal Regulation
  • Ability to research regulations for a variety of authorities
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to travel among Rinchem locations as applicable and appropriate for standardization
  • Hazardous Chemical Manager with 7 Years of working experience
  • Qualified to be appointed as Hazardous Chemical Technical Professional for Company
  • All other legal or regulatory licenses needed
Experience and Education:
  • Bachelor’s Degree or year for year progressive experience
  • 5-7 Years in EH&S Experience
  • Experience with hazmat warehousing
  • OSHA/KOSHA/Ministry of Environment Certification
Communication Skills:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication in Country Language and English
  • Ability to collaborate at all levels internally and with customers
  • Ability to create and present training materials in larger groups
  • Ability to make recommendations with assistance of Manager to effectively resolve problems by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulations, or government law.
Computer Skills:
  • Must be able to utilize systems of record for EH&S as well as Sales Force, Product Master, WMS and TMS as applicable
  • Proficiency in using MS Office Suite
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong desktop research skills
