Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented *Payroll Manager* to oversee and manage our payroll operations in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements within the South African context. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented *Payroll Manager* to oversee and manage our payroll operations in South Africa. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of payroll processes, tax regulations, and compliance requirements within the South African context. You will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the end-to-end payroll process for all employees.
- Ensure compliance with South African tax laws, labor laws, and company policies.
- Prepare and process monthly payroll, including salaries, deductions, and statutory contributions (PAYE, UIF, SDL, etc.).
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure timely submission of statutory reports (e.g., EMP201, EMP501).
- Resolve payroll discrepancies and employee queries in a timely manner.
- Collaborate with HR and finance teams to ensure alignment and accuracy of employee data.
- Stay updated on changes in payroll laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Conduct regular audits of payroll processes to identify and address inconsistencies.
- Manage payroll-related projects, such as system upgrades and process improvements.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
- At least 5 years of payroll experience, with 2+ years in a management role.
- In-depth knowledge of South African payroll legislation and statutory requirements.
- Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., Sage 300).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to handle confidential information.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Certification in payroll management.
- Familiarity with HR systems and integration with payroll.
- Experience in managing payroll for large organizations or multiple sites.
