Role

We are looking for a talented Graphic Designer to support the Executive Director for all CIJ’s visual communications within the business. He/She should possess a natural creative flair and visual ability that can inspire, inform and problem-solve. A quick thinker who can react to complex briefs in a tidy and sufficient manner, who is equally comfortable working alone or collaboratively with colleagues and is confident in the conceptual process and selling in ideas.

Responsibilities
To support the Executive Director for all CIJ’s design collateral
Responsible for the design and layout of branded and visual communication materials
Collaborate with the CIJ team to maximize creative excellence
Creating presentation materials across both digital and print platforms
Work within the constraints and guidelines of our branding visual identity
Overall project management, prioritising and managing work coming in from multiple business units
Work within project deadlines to ensure on-time completion
Work proactively under own initiative and the CIJ team
Working closely with the Executive Director

Requirements
Minimum 5 years of design experience, experience in a design agency a strong plus
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Indesign, Photoshop and Illustrator)
Knowledge in UI/UX Design
Openness to experience
Photography and videography skills a plus (but not required)
Manage internal publications and documents that require an editorial touch
Meticulous attention to detail
Take ownership in projects and consistently deliver high standard of work
Core design skills in layout, typography and visual communication
Able to work across both digital and print
Ability to work at speed and multi-task with complex briefs
Polished and professional appearance
Positive attitude, be an “energizer”
Good communication skills and be very well spoken

Administrative Details

Start date: Immediate preferred

Compensation: Competitive base salary

Education: Graduate from Graphic Design or related program

Experience: Minimum 5 years of professional design experience

Languages: Excellent command of English required (written and spoken)

Reporting: Reports directly to the Executive Director

Travel: Based in Cape Town, South Africa
