Senior Business System Analyst @MMCTech

We are seeking a talented individual to join our Configuration Engineering team at Marsh Mc Lennan as a Senior Business System Analyst.
This role will be based in Cluj, Romania. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.
Configuration Engineering is a department comprised of several teams (called workstreams), all using DCL as a tool for delivering solutions. This position will sit within the Templating workstream.
Configuration Engineers are responsible for creating the business logic that drives Darwin™ Evolve, using Darwin Coding Language (DCL*) - a proprietary coding tool developed in Darwin.
As a Senior Business System Analyst, you will support cross-functional squads comprised of a Squad Lead, Developers, Systems Analysts, and Quality Assurance Engineers committed to ensuring the successful design and delivery of complex application solutions centered on the strategic roadmap for one or more key technology capabilities within MMC, in an Agile Team setting.

As part of your daily activities, you will:
  • Collaborate with the Product Owner and teams to manage tactical aspects of iteration planning such as the squads’ backlog, backlog grooming, user story refinement, user story estimation, facilitating Sprint Reviews, and participating in Agile Ceremonies;
  • Assist the Product Owner in the development of personas, customer journey maps, story maps, and release planning to foster insights and understanding of the vision for the team;

We will count on you to:
  • Be a highly motivated team player working within MMC's Agile culture, within a specified agile framework of KANBAN, and maintain a willingness for continuously improving your agile mindset;
  • Direct cross-functional analysis on critical initiatives requiring significant strategic change across multiple platforms and products;
  • Ensure that teams are consistently converting the business requirements to solutions, consisting of epics and features, considering technical constraints and existing technical architecture/functionality;
  • Work with the Product Owner to communicate the product vision, roadmap, value, and MVP to the agile teams to enable empathy and a shared understanding, thereby helping the team to formulate an appropriate solution;
  • Collaborate with Squad Leadership, Product Owner, and stakeholders to create Personas and Story Maps;
  • Work in partnership with the Product Owner and agile teams in the creation and maintenance of Product Backlog Items;
  • Facilitate grooming sessions with the Agile Teams and Business to sufficiently detail out User Stories, including dependencies;
  • Participate in Demo ceremonies by working with the agile teams and Product Owner to review, assess, and adapt the latest product increment by incorporating customer insights and feedback into the Product Backlog;
  • Actively work with Squad Leadership by providing constructive and continuous feedback to drive improvement within Squads' WOW;

What you need to have:
  • 5+ years of experience as an IT Systems Analyst or IT Business Analyst in an agile team using Agile Workflow tools, ideally in the health & wealth insurance domain;
  • Bachelor’s degree in technology, software engineering, business, or other related field;
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, in English (C1) & Romanian;
  • Agile mindset with an in-depth understanding of Agile Principles;
  • Demonstrated requirements gathering skills, capturing customer needs and business drivers into product backlog items;
  • Proven quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills;
  • Highly motivated and inquisitive rapid learner comfortable working as part of a multicultural team;
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within the organization;
  • Skilled in process improvement and integration opportunities with other process automation tools;
  • Self-motivated with a passion for research and self-training.
  • Ability to provide timely responses and solutions to remove impediments for squads;
  • Ability to find resolutions regarding own work methods with minimal direction;
