Position Summary:
The Payroll Specialist will join the Motive Finance team to support payroll processing. We are looking for an adaptable candidate who is eager to work in a fast-paced, innovative, high-growth environment. This team member will be an integral point person and provide support for all employees at Motive.
The role will be reporting directly to the Finance Director.
Responsibilities:

• Prepare, verify, and process all Motive entities (Romania, UK, Mexico)
• Using payroll software, prepare payroll related filings and supporting documentation, such as year-end tax statements, pension, Records of Employment, EHT payments, etc.
• Process new hires and terminations and ensure they are accurately and timely paid.
• Support new location payroll onboarding and integration
• Partner with HR team to calculate and process annual merit increases, Process annual bonuses including share-based components.
• Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies, including communicating with impacted employees.
• Verify and approve payroll tax filings and remittances.
• Implement process improvement projects in payroll and related areas, including documentation of processes and integration with other systems, including assessing existing payroll processes and recommending improvements.
• Keeps abreast of the payroll processing system and changes in wage/tax laws, and applies changes as appropriate
• Implement and set up Payroll for new locations.
• Prepare schedules and back up to support annual and interim audits.
• Monitoring and analyzing expenses against the benefits budget to help prepare cost forecasts and budgets

Qualifications:

• Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) or equivalent designation
• Minimum 8 years of experience processing payroll
• Experience with processing International payroll, Must have knowledge of Romania and UK payroll
• Experience with ADP Workforce Now, and ADP Celergo
• Experience working with Workday considered an asset
• Experience working with Great Plains, Net Suite, or BPC considered an asset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Works collaboratively by consulting with employees, colleagues, partners, clients, users, and stakeholders
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple and competing priorities to meet tight deadlines.
• Effectively communicates (verbal, written and presentation) with internal and external stakeholders at all organizational levels
• Embraces technology-enabled solutions and processes
