Who we are

We are seeking a talented Oracle Senior DBA proficient in both Data Admin and German language to join our team.

What you'll be doing

• Oracle DBA: Set up and operate large Oracle BI/DWH/Analytics databases on Exa CS, RAC, ASM, Data Guard
• Oracle Enterprise Manager:

• Monitoring of Oracle Exadata Cloud Services (Exa CS) in OCI environment
• Maintain highly available OEM monitoring system in OCI environment, including

o Patch tests, implementation and documentation
o Performance optimization and documentation
o HA design, implementation, test and documentation
o DR design, implementation, test and documentation
o Perform OEM, OMS, OAS backups / recoveries
o Adjust and configure new agents for Exa CS and VMs@OCI
o Configure and test new OEM settings / metrics / targets including adjustments of all existing KPI collections, tables, views, packages
o Configure and test all existing Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) and OEM internal reports

• Support migration from on-premises to OCI
• Maintain OEM security via implementing critical security patches soon after patch delivery
• Implement authentication and authorization of OEM via Entra ID
• Automation of simple second level platform tasks like creating databases or users.
• Automate OEM installation and EM agent installations via Terraform and Ansible
• New internal and customer reports have to be designed and implemented
• Support implementation, tests and documentation of Oracle CIS benchmarks

• Upgrade Grafana and add new dashboards:

• Upgrade current Grafana environment to newest version
• Add new and important Oracle Metrics to easy identify performance bottlenecks on database level.
• Configure and test all existing Grafana collections and reports

• Define, configure, install and compare Oracle Cloud Monitoring Utility with Oracle EM:

• Oracle Cloud Observability and Management as Monitoring solution should be investigated
• Define and configure possible OCI Monitoring Events / Alerts
• Compare this tool and its capabilities with Oracle EM in OCI

• New internal and customer reports have to be designed and implemented:

• Create and test several new internal and customer reports for the Oracle Cloud environment
• Implement these reports in the new production Oracle Analytics Server (OAS) environment

• APEX:

• Setup and operate APEX instances
• Design, implement, test and document APEX applications mainly to support the database operations

• Qlik Replicate support:

• Set up, monitor and troubleshoot Qlik Replicate tasks to replicate Oracle db transactions to other database systems

What you'll bring along

• Bachelor’s degree in Informatics/ or similar field of study/or equivalent working experience is required
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in a similar role
• OCI knowledge is requested
• German is a must, to discuss new requirements, incidents, problems and security issues with German customers
• Deep Linux knowledge is requested
• Experience in troubleshooting network issues (routing, firewall, security lists/groups)
• A real team player and are willing to exchange and further develop know-how
