Primary purpose of job
Provide advice, opinion, services and handling internal and external queries, and leads Counsels in providing legal opinion
required in running the business, as specified in LCL Division Internal Policy, or assigned by the General Counsel (LC),
Associate General Counsel (LCL), Head Counsel (Opinion and Legislation) in accordance with Qatar Energy’s policies,
procedures, applicable laws and regulations, to the best interest of Qatar Energy. Draft and comment on proposed
legislation, and monitor the newly issued laws, to ensure the compliance of Qatar Energy and its subsidiaries with the State
of Qatar laws and regulations.

• At least 10 years of legal experience including the practice areas in the Principal Accountabilities listed above.
• Must be familiar with the Qatari laws or any similar jurisdiction.
• Experience in the Oil and Gas industry will be highly advantageous.
• Effective communication skills.
• Must be proficient in using Microsoft Word.
• Experience of dealing with regulators and government representatives.
• Ability to assimilate complex legal matters and to provide practical advice to non-lawyers.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team player with members of the legal Department, as well as other

stakeholders.

• Highly motivated, proactive, organized, and self-disciplined.

Education
• Bachelor of Law (LLB) or equivalent from a recognized university, preferably a master’s degree of law.
