Job Title: Pathologist
Location: Life Care Clinic, Qatar
Department: Laboratory
Reporting To: Medical Director
Job Description
A Pathologist in Qatar is responsible for diagnosing diseases by examining tissues, blood samples, and other body fluids. The role involves collaborating with other healthcare professionals to ensure accurate diagnosis and patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Diagnostic Services:
Examine patient specimens (e.g., blood, tissues) for diagnosis.
Interpret and report findings to physicians and other medical professionals.
Conduct autopsies (if required).
2. Clinical Oversight:
Supervise and ensure quality control in laboratory operations.
Review laboratory test results for accuracy and relevance.
Maintain compliance with international laboratory standards.
3. Patient Interaction:
Discuss diagnostic findings with treating physicians.
Provide consultations for complex cases.
4. Research and Education:
Stay updated on advancements in pathology.
Educate clinic staff on diagnostic techniques and laboratory safety.
5. Regulatory Compliance:
Ensure compliance with Qatar’s MOPH guidelines, including patient confidentiality, safety protocols, and proper waste disposal.
Oversee the accreditation process of the clinic’s laboratory.
Requirements
1. Education:
Medical Degree (MBBS or equivalent).
Postgraduate specialization in Pathology (MD or equivalent).
2. Licensure:
Valid Medical License from Qatar’s Ministry of Public Health.
Passed the Prometric Exam and completed the dataflow verification process.
3. Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of experience as a pathologist in a hospital or clinic setting.
Proficiency in various laboratory tests and diagnostics.
4. Technical Skills:
Knowledge of histopathology, cytology, hematology, and microbiology.
Familiarity with advanced diagnostic tools and laboratory equipment.
5. Soft Skills:
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
Attention to detail and commitment to patient care.
Qualifications
Fluent in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
Certification in Pathology from a recognized board.
Proficient in laboratory management systems and reporting tools.
Advanced training in specific pathology subfields.
Working Conditions
Work hours as per clinic requirements; may include on-call duties.
Exposure to infectious materials; adherence to strict safety protocols is mandatory.
Collaborative environment with multidisciplinary teams.
