Job Title: Contracts and Commercial Manager

Job Description & Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the commercial and contracts team, ensuring the effective execution of all contractual and commercial activities on assigned projects.
- Develop, review, and negotiate contracts, ensuring compliance with project specifications, client requirements, and local regulations.
- Provide strategic advice on commercial matters, including risk management, cost control, and financial forecasting, to optimize project outcomes.
- Manage the preparation, submission, and negotiation of claims, variations, and extension of time, with clients and subcontractors.
- Oversee the procurement process, including the drafting and evaluation of tender documents, supplier negotiations, and contract awards.
- Monitor project budgets cash flows, and cost performance, ensuring alignment with financial targets and identifying opportunity for cost savings.
- Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of project valuations, Interim and Final Accounts, and monthly commercial reports.
- Liaise with clients, consultants, and other stakeholders to resolve contractual and commercial issues, fostering strong working relationships.
- Provide guidance and training to the commercial team, promoting best practices and ensuring compliance with company policy and procedure.
- Conduct regular reviews of contracts and commercial practices to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards particularly those specific to Qatar.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction management or related field with certified MMUP/UPDA.
- Minimum, of 12 years of overall contracts/commercial management experience with at least 5 years focused on major international / regional roads and infrastructure, and drainage projects in Qatar.
- Extensive knowledge of FIDIC contracts red / yellow book and other relevant forms of contract used in the construction industry.
- Strong understanding of local laws and regulations governing construction contracts in Qatar.
- Proven track record in managing large scale projects, including experience in contract negotiation, claims management and dispute resolution.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in commercial management software and tools.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Certification in commercial management or contract management is preferred.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: QAR1.00 - QAR2.00 per month
