Risk Intelligence Analyst-Warsaw, Poland

Emergent Risk International (ERI) is seeking to hire full-time Risk Intelligence Analyst to be embedded with one of our clients. Candidates for this role will have an analytical mindset, desire to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with a focus on threat and risk intelligence analysis, supply chain vulnerabilities, physical security and investigations and due diligence. Candidate must be located in Warsaw, Poland but will need to work some overlap with US Eastern and Central Time Zone hours.
About US: ERI is a global risk and security intelligence advisory firm headquartered in Newport, Rhode Island with offices in Austin, Washington DC, Greater Boston, the United Kingdom, Ireland, India, Mexico, Portugal, and Singapore. We support global security, risk management, business continuity and other risk-focused departments of Fortune 500 companies and multi-national organizations. We help our clients assess risk to their organizations; whether that risk emanates from geopolitics, security threats, economic forces or regulatory initiatives that may impact bottom-line revenue or threaten personnel and company assets.
ERI operates five lines of business:
● Assessment and Analysis: We provide our clients daily, subscription-based and bespoke geopolitical and threat intelligence services.
● Training: We train intelligence analysts to serve effectively in corporate environments. Our training focuses on tradecraft and tools that drive more efficient and effective analysis. We offer a range of in-house and open training courses to address specific levels of experience and need.
● Online Platform: We offer a subscription-based online portal that provides a workspace environment for security intelligence analysts, combining ERI’s expert analysis with hundreds of curated datasets and our suite of data visualization tools.
● Consulting: We help companies develop and improve their intelligence programs, providing end-to-end support; from assessing needs and providing analysis to recruiting and hiring highly qualified candidates.
● Embedded Analyst Services: We support our clients with embedded analysts, full- and part-time, short- and long-term. Our embedded analysts work directly for our clients, allowing them the benefit of employing intelligence professionals trained to ERI’s strict standards of competency and continually professionally developed by ERI’s senior leadership, armed with access to ERI’s proprietary tools and deep backbench of in-house subject matter experts.
What We Are Looking For:
The risk intelligence analyst will support the client’s security operations by monitoring real-time events, prioritizing situations of concern to the company’s assets, operations and workforce, and draft a variety of data-driven and qualitative intelligence products with minimal supervision, providing both tactical and strategic analysis as needed. The analyst will write timely, accurate, and relevant tactical alerts and situation reports as well as occasionally conduct investigations and due diligence research relevant to third party vendors and/or supply chain partners. The analyst must be a self-starter, composed under pressure, and possess high-quality written and verbal skills in English.
Primary responsibilities include:
· Gather and manage information and intelligence about US and international events using a variety of OSINT resources, client tools and social media including environmental, social, governance, political, economic and security trends impacting client and / or its suppliers.
· Write concise, accurate and error-free analysis and assessments of operational risks and disruptions impacting supply chains, production, logistics, key consumer markets, clients and competitors for client.
· Build context and organizational awareness of geopolitical challenges in markets important to client and write forward-looking, geopolitical reports on issues relevant to client.
· Develop an expert understanding of the client’s business model and asset, operations and locations, ensuring that all intelligence and reporting is tailored to the client’s specific needs.
· Conduct due diligence and threat investigations and assessments including third party vendors, supply chain partners and other potential threats.
· Apply subject matter expertise to develop methodologies for evaluating and responding to a variety of threats.
· Understand, interrogate, and visualize high-quality data to draw analytic conclusions and add additional context to analysis and reporting.
· Develop and maintain deep knowledge base of sources including OSINT, social media, client databases, sources and archives.
· Successfully complete all ERI training, mentorship and other ERI initiatives as appropriate.
· Regularly attend ERI Global Team Meetings, webinars and engage with other ERI analysts.
· Additional tasks as necessary.
Experience: The right candidate will possess most or all of the following qualifications:
· 4-6 years’ experience in government or private sector intelligence, protective intelligence or geopolitical risk analysis.
· Bachelor’s degree in a related discipline (master’s degree preferred), preferably in Political Science, International Relations or Security Studies required.
· Previous, demonstrable experience writing geopolitical reports with identified business impacts, familiar with supply chains, physical security threat landscape.
· Comfortable with ambiguity and taking initiative.
· Proficiency and understanding of social media and open-source intelligence collection and analysis.
· Ability to work with and visualize large data sets to convey intelligence and information.
· Self-motivated with a growth mindset, able to manage time and prioritize effectively. Demonstrated ability to overcome obstacles to get the job done.
· Superior English language writing and editing skills with strong attention to detail and fluency in languages other than English.
· Quick thinking and response time during crisis events.
· Ability to receive direct feedback and incorporate corrections quickly. Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
· Mapping skills preferred.
· A strong commitment to ethical private-sector intelligence practices.
· The ability to maintain confidentiality around security-specific information.
· Must be able to pass a pre-employment background screening and locally compliant reference checks and pre-employment drug screening where allowed by law.
Remuneration: This role will be a full-time (40 hours per week) position with pay and benefits commensurate with experience and locally competitive salaries.
