BACKGROUND:

QAI has an exciting career opportunity within the admin department. The IT Support position will play a key role in the organization. The IT Supportwill in charge of monitoring and maintaining the company computer systems, installing and configuring hardware and software, and solving technical problems. They will also support end-user technologies, including desktops, printers, devices and potentially network and systems of all types, providing technical support and ensuring the whole company runs smoothly.
The ideal candidatewill be someone who possess a superior technical knowledge of all systems and who is positive, engaging, self-motivated, an effective communicator, solutions oriented, responsive, able to demonstrate strong decision-making skills, having the confidence and freedom to do so in a supportive work environment.
DUTIES: The successful candidate will perform, but not be limited to, the following duties:
● Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners
● Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks
● Responding promptly to service issues and requests
● Providing technical support across the company (mainly over the phone)
● Setting up accounts for new users and termination of access for terminated users
● Repairing and replacing equipment as necessary
● Testing new technology
● Other duties as assigned by manager
QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidate will:
● Technical diploma or degree in the field of Computer Science Engineering
● Minimum 5 years of IT industry experience
● Have the aptitude for providing a superior level of customer service in a complex and often demanding business environment
● Demonstrated a strong ability to build internal and external relationships.
● Excellent written/oral communication skills and superior presentation skills
● Ability to have a technical, logical thought process
● Have problem-solving skills
● Time management skills with an ability to prioritize based on deadlines
● A keen eye for detail
● Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, independently and with team members. MUST be self-motivated and assertive
● Ability to stick to strict deadlines
● Previous technical experience in a similar capacity in a service industry
● Possess the ability to read and understand policies, regulations, and standards
● Experience working with diverse teams (engineering, operations, marketing)
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
● Able to work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Pacific Standard time (Vancouver, Canada).
● Ability to adapt to the North American work culture.
